The Governor or the President can call on the National Guard to aid our community. The New Mexico Army National Guard supports our state and local communities during local emergencies or the United States during time of national conflict.
After completing 10 weeks of Basic Training and AIT (Advanced Individual Training is specialized job training soldiers receive after Basic Training), National Guard Soldiers serve 1 Weekend per month and 2 weeks per year unless called to assist our state or country.
$2,319.00 – $3,027.30 pay during Basic and Job training
Federal Tuition Assistance paired with Opportunity Scholarship
Full-time student: Mont. GI Bill $493.00 (paid to student)
College First Policy
No involuntary mobilizations or deployments for federal service during the four-year college first stabilization period.
